Join us for an exciting fusion of sound and spoken word in The Wanda Coleman Theater. The program features two ensembles from Los Angeles: Raul Garcia & The Loved Ones, whose latest release blends 10 years of energetic and sunshine melodies made in SoCal. Raul's influences swing from Funkadelic's raw energy to The Kinks' songwriting and guitar playing of Santana. They'll be joined on stage by The Matthew Perez Trio, bringing a soulful layer of jazz to the night’s lineup. Between sets, catch the poetry interludes by Diosy Reyes, Julieta Garcia, Anahi Samaniego, and Genesis Perez.

Join us for an evening with Nicelle Davis and her new book Penguin Noir, a novel in verse offering “a view of life under a man-made ecosystem.” Poets Rich Ferguson, Kathleen Florence, Brian Sonia-Wallace, Amy Raasch, Jeremy Ra, Bill Rather, Victoria McCoy, Terri Niccum, Hanna Pachman, Jose Rios, and Aruni Wijesinghe will also be featured. Hosted by improv actors serving drinks, introducing poets, and setting the stage with a full noir-inspired ambiance, each poet will read 2 (Noir-style) poems.

Proxy Gallery Presents
DiLos: Only Child

DiLos is the name used by Mexican artist Delia Perez Salinas Tijerina. Her 2025 installation in the Proxy Gallery consists of 9 “magic boxes” connected to electricity that each contains a holographic GIF video. On each image is seen milk poured down from the top. Some of the images are recognizable- three anchor globes (sun, moon, and star). Other images are a GPT umbrella, a cherry with nine stalks, a golden knot from a cherry stalk, a cobra leopard, a 9 hole pierced cactus, Lamborghini Notre Dame.
